Volunteer teachers from Clear Up Skin Care visit middle school health classes in the Los Angeles area to talk about acne, acne treatments, and positive coping skills. Acne.org donates a proven step-by-step regimen to clear the skin, and I am personally donating hundreds of sample tubes of Clear Skin Regimen Gel . Recently, due to strong Clear Skin Regimen Gel sales I was also able to donate another $1000. Together, Acne.org and Clear Up Skin Care aim to relieve the shame of acne by offering an open, comfortable environment for teens to learn about and discuss acne with volunteer educators. Clear Up Skin Care's program description and mission are below: Program Description The Clear Up Skin Care program develops and disseminates information about acne, how it affects teens both physically and emotionally, and teaches methods through which teenagers can build their self-esteem and increase their feelings of self-worth. We became a non-profit in 2002. We are starting off slowly, at Madison Middle School in North Hollywood, CA, where we give a series of three presentations to 7th and 8th grade students during their health class. The first presentation provides students an opportunity to learn about the causes and treatment of acne. The second and third presentations explore the connection between physical appearance and self-esteem. Currently there is a total lack of information available to youth about skin care and acne prevention in the public school health curriculum. Ms. Venus Lindo, a counselor at Madison Middle School states, “The Clear Up Skin Care program is a beneficial experience for early adolescents. They are able to obtain information they would not get any other way." The presentations offer free, informative, and accurate information about acne and building self-esteem. The program empowers teens to understand that they can control how they take care of themselves, which will help them feel positive about how they look, how they feel, and what they are able to achieve. Clear Up Skin Care is beginning to fulfill an important need as demonstrated by a 7 th grader’s comments about the program, “I learned a lot about skin care and self-esteem. Thank you – you really helped me.” Mission Being a teenager is not easy; it is a phase we endure during which everything seems to be in a continual state of flux – emotions, friendships, and self-esteem. If acne is added to the mix, the life of an adolescent can seem almost unbearable. We developed Clear Up Skin Care to help teenagers learn more about acne and how to care for their skin. But more importantly, we help them realize that everyone has aspects about themselves that they wish they could improve. As we grow and mature, these aspects can also come and go. What is most important is that we like who we are inside. When we are able to accomplish this, we are able to accomplish almost anything we desire. Mix together the following in a large stainless or glass bowl: 4 pounds Dead Sea Salts or Spa Salts 1/4 cup dendritic salt Essential oil De-Stress Synergy as follows: 50 drops lavender essential oil 7 drops patchouli essential oil 4 drops petitgrain essential oil 3 drops clary sage essential oil 5 drops lemon essential oil Pour essential oil mix over 1/4 cup dendritic salt , and mix thoroughly. Allow to set in for 10-15 minutes and then combine the scented dendritic with the rest of your salt mix. Use 1/2 cup salts per bath. Snowdrift Milk Bath Blend Luxurious and good for your skin! 2 cups powdered milk 1/4 cup dendritic salt 5-10 drops fragrance or essential oil. Combine scent with dendritic salt, then incorporate thoroughly into dry milk powder. Add 1/2 cup to each bath. Yield: 2.25 cups ROSE-MILK BATH Use rose absolute or rose essential oil for a truly decadent soak . 2 cups powdered milk 1/4 cup dendritic salt 5 drops rose absolute (optional): 5 drops sandalwood 2 drops jasmin 2 drops myrrh Combine rose absolute (and other oils/absolutes, if using) with dendritic salt, then incorporate thoroughly into dry milk powder. Add 1/2 cup to each bath. Package in pretty containers. Yield: 2.25 cups Snowdrift Bath Salt Blend Just a few ingredients and a drop or so of scent and you're on your way to the R & R you deserve! 2 cups coarsely ground sea salts 1/8-1/4 cup dendritic salt 1/4 cup epsom salt (optional) 1/4 cup baking soda (optional) 5-10 drops of (skin safe)fragrance or essential oil. Combine scent with dendritic salt, then incorporate the scented dendritic with the remaining ingredients. Use 1/3 to 1/2 cup per bath. Yield: 2.5 to 2.75 cups Demerrara Sugar Scrub with Jojoba All measures by volume -- whip this up in the kitchen! Dry Phase 1/2 cup dry oatmeal, finely ground (use the blender) 1 cup demerarra sugar (at the market) Natrasorb (wheat starch) 1/4 cup Oil Phase 1/4 cup jojoba oil 1 tablespoon vegetable glycerin USP 1/8 - 1/4 cup polysorbate 20 1/8 teaspoon Phenonip 1/8 -1/4 teaspoon essential oils of your choice (optional) In a stainless steel or glass bowl, mix dry ingredients. In a larger stainless or glass bowl, mix the oil phase with a wire whisk. Drizzle oil phase over dry phase and mix thoroughly. (If this is for your own use, use your clean hand to do this. If being prepared for sale, use a gloved hand.) Add more Natrasorb if there is too much free oil on top. Pack into plastic tub and shower safe jars. Snowdrift Salt Glow This salt scrub doesn't separate as most do. The addition of Natrasorb really helps to keep the mix together! 1/2 cup natural liquid soap base 1/4 cup Natrasorb 1 cup dendritic salt 1 tbls. Jojoba oil or other light oil Essential oils up to 3% Method: Mix soap, Natrasorb and jojoba oil. Add to salt and add EO/FO. Package in a wide-mouthed fancy plastic jar for a really nice, SAFE look! Beach Time Foot Scrub Here's a great way to slough off old, dry skin while soaking up the fun at the beach! 1 part jojoba oil 1 part fine beach sand 10-20 drops peppermint & rosemary essential oils Mix everything in a ziplock plastic baggie, making sure to get an even distribution of the oils throughout the sand. Massage into feet. Ahhhhh... Restorative Herbal-Mineral Soak The perfect soak for your tired feet. 1/4 cup Epsom salt 1 cup Dead Sea Salt 1 1/2 tablespoons dendritic salt 1/8 cup Rooibos tea 15 drops peppermint essential oil 10 drops tea tree essential oil 12 jumbo heat sealable tea bags Disperse essential oils on dendritic salt. Set aside. Blend Epsom and Dead Sea salts in a medium bowl. Add Rooibos tea; mix again. Add scented dendritic salt blend once more.
