The Hand Rehabilitation Center of Indiana: Hand Care Conference HAND CARE Hand Care 2006: Clinical Approaches to Rehabilitation for the Upper Extremity “Hand Care” is a nationally recognized meeting sponsored by The Hand Rehabilitation Center of Indiana. The meeting began in 1984 and has been held every two years since its inception. Hand Care is directed toward the practicing clinician and is presented at an intermediate level. It is recommended for occupational therapists, physical therapists, physicians, and nurses with a special interest in hand rehabilitation. A comprehensive format is designed around the dynamics of a team approach for total upper extremity care. The course includes a full spectrum of subjects pertaining to the upper extremity including lecture presentations with handouts and reference lists, an anatomy lab, instructional sessions and exhibits. The meeting is well-recognized around the country as one of the leading hand conferences and has been viewed as a valuable experience for the attendees. In 2004 over 450 therapists attended this meeting, along with 75 faculty members. Both therapists and surgeons serve as faculty for this meeting. Hand Care 2006 will be held Thursday, May 4 th through Saturday, May 6 th , 2006 at the Marriott Hotel in downtown Indianapolis. The Indiana Hand Center is proud to sponsor medical education courses for therapists, nurses and physicians.
