Posted: Nov 13, 2005 11:30 AM Reply I am looking for a product or treatment that I can use to erase the effects of teenage acne. My skin has improved a lot since then, but I still have some darker marks and pitting in my skin on the cheeks and jawline. I also, have large pores in these areas that I want to reduce. Anyone know of a good peel or other product that can help. drsaith Posts: 394 From: London UK Registered: 10/17/05 Re: How Do I Get Rid of Acne Marks? Posted: Nov 13, 2005 5:24 PM Reply Well, as far as minimizing the size of your pores, look for any moisturizer that is a "pore refiner." You'll find these at the local drugstore (i.e. Neutrogena, Clean & Clear, etc.), as well as higher-end brands like Kiehls. In regards to your acne scars, that's really only something a dermatologist can take care of. I have seen this kit at the drugstore lately. Perhaps you can check it out: http://tinyurl.com/9lox3 cutandsew Posts: 13 Registered: 9/6/05 Re: How Do I Get Rid of Acne Marks? Posted: Nov 14, 2005 4:04 PM Reply Thanks for the advice. I will check out a pore refining cleanser. bLAcKvELveT Posts: 1,203 Registered: 10/26/05 Re: How Do I Get Rid of Acne Marks? Posted: Nov 14, 2005 4:19 PM Reply Take 50mg of zinc twice a day and you will notice a difference in a month or two. I wouldn't recommend doing microdermabrasion at home because that can actually make your skin worse. dustin4 Posts: 5 Registered: 10/19/05 Re: How Do I Get Rid of Acne Marks? Posted: Nov 22, 2005 4:00 AM Reply I would get some Vitamin K cream and put it on twice daily. Microdermmight be good, but make sure you go to a notable place to get it done, and it may take more than one treatment. gerald187 Posts: 41 Registered: 3/30/05 Re: How Do I Get Rid of Acne Marks? Posted: Dec 29, 2005 11:34 PM Reply dont waste money on costly cosmetics!...there is no product which can get rid of the pitting caused by acne...even microdermabrasion...I called the customer service of La mer and they told me that their products at the least can decrease the appearence of wrinkles...the only way to get rid of those scars is by visiting a dermatologist. lex Posts: 41 Registered: 12/21/05 Re: How Do I Get Rid of Acne Marks? Posted: Dec 30, 2005 12:03 AM Reply people are raving right now about olay microdermabrasion and peel, but i hear the neutrogena product isn't as good. probably the dermatologist is your best bet since you described the problem has been with you for some time now. creme de la mer is ridiculously overpriced, i wouldn't bother w/ that - spend it on a dermatologist instead. my recommendation is to try the olay, see if that has the effect you want, then go to the dermatologist if you're not satisfied. juzboi Posts: 31 Registered: 9/19/05 Re: How Do I Get Rid of Acne Marks? Posted: Jan 2, 2006 7:05 AM Reply Rose hip oil - I swear by it. It can help to remove scars (especially acne scars) and smooth out skin, whilst acting as a substitute for moisturiser at the same time. I'm currently using an Australian brand called Kosmea. I find that Kosmea products tend to be of a higher quality than others, and their rose hip oil is thicker and more concentrated than other's that I've tried. However, I don't know about distribution outside Australia... I've been aware of the chemtrail situation for a few years now and living in the West Hills here in Portland, I have a ringside seat for the daily show. Every clear day and recently every clear night, they bombard us with chemtrails - every day without fail for at least the last three years; that is, until you posted the recent article. The day after that story appeared on your site was the first clear day in three years that they haven't sprayed Porland Or. The following day they did a relatively light spray, apparently realising just how quickly the brainwashed minions forget. But now, we have a brand new situation. The last couple days they have again quit. Sitting here on a Sunday morning, now afternoon, on a perfectly beautiful and clear day they aren't spraying us - how come? Have you heard the news? There is a skin rash epidemic hitting our public schools. A couple schools have been closed - I believe they may be re-opened on Monday - while many, I think in the hundreds, of kids have come down with this'mystery rash'. It was the lead news story for a few nights. No one has been able to discover the cause, but since americans don't like the unknown, the local medical folks have come up with the concept of a "psychosomatic" rash. Can you believe that Jeff, the children in Portland Or. are so screwed up psychologically that they're all having a psychosomatic rash. All the local talking heads are pushing this 'theory'. This rash looks just like those I've seen pictures of where those affected claim them to be chemtrail related. I'm not a doctor, I just play one on-line, but I'll bet you a cool million this rash is caused by our daily dose of chemtrails and the 'authorities' are afraid the minions may actually look up and somehow put two and two together. Personally, I don't think those in charge have anything to worry about, the people of Portland will never have the courage to face this issue. It seems that there is a major disconnect in India when one wants to buy bath salt. Most Americans take showers I know (you bloody heathens), but having spent years in Japan taking baths, I really love sitting in a big tub and just letting my skin soak. I also have found even more recently after giving my baby daughter many of her baths, that bath salt is really great for my chronically itchy skin, and lessons my need to use soaps. However, with the notion that I can buy most anything in Bangalore (a notion which I have abandoned for the most part) I went to the local market asking if they have any bath salt. In Japan, they have countless brands that come in all sorts of containers that show an impressive use of marketing expertise. In Bangalore, all I got was that "deer in the headlight" look. The conversation almost always goes like this; Me: Excuse me, do you have bath salt? Clueless Store Clerk: Bath Soap? M: No, Salt! CSC: Cooking Salt? M: No, not for cooking. For the bath. CSC: You want to cook in the bath? M: No I want to take a bath in the bath. CSC: Without soap? M: Well, I use some soap, but I want salt. CSC: You want soap with salt? M: No, I want salt with my salt...oh forget it! At which point, I tend to give up as I know forcing the conversation will probably scare the poor clerk, or get me frothing at the mouth at which point someone will want to call a cop or something. Store clerks here it seems, can only imagine using soap to clean themselves. The funny thing is that after seeing a doctor about my itchy skin, I was told to stop using soap all together. I was a bit astonished. What, no soap at all? That can't be hygienic I protested. The doctor just looked at me and said, "Do you know what is in soap? Primarily fat mixed with lye, and lye is caustic. That is why so many people have skin problems. I see this all the time. After rubbing lye in their but crack their whole life, they suddenly wonder why their behind has been on fire for the past 20 years. Take my word, don't use soap, just warm water to wash yourself." At first I was unwilling to believe the harsh words of my doctor. However, while on a business trip several years ago, there was a water-main break which cut off all the water to where I was staying. I was forced to go for two days without taking a shower (no bath up there either). So I figured, what the heck. Lets see if anyone even notices. No one said anything (at least I think they didn't), but the interesting thing is that my skin problems started to show improvement. Since that day I use a small amount of soap, but for the most part, a lot of salt as my primary cleaning agent. And my body thanks me for it. So what do I do here in Bangalore? I simply go over to the spice section and buy large crystal cooking salt. It costs only 7 Rupees for a kilo bag, which for the most part is nothing. In fact when I think about the high prices I pay for real bath salt boxed by Mr. marketing fancy pants, it occurs to me that my cheap solution is just as good. After all, salt is basically, well, salt. OK, the cooking version is not colored and scented. To solve that issue, I use the traditional Japanese technique of using an orange rind to scent the water. So there you have it, for under 5 cents, you can have a wonderful bath at fraction of the cost in the western world. I wonder what other great solutions I will discover while living in India? buzzwords: bath , bath salt , india , japan , salt , shower , soap Posted: 11/21/2005 8:18 AM Views: 49 COMMENTS ( 2 ) Anonymous: 11/21/2005 5:09 PM i too induldge frequently. how long will you be living in Bangalore? i'm looking forward to coming back and looking at your images... whiterabbit : 11/21/2005 7:11 PM Anonymous: We will be here for at least one more year. I started using this product every other day. I put it on my whole face, except around my eyes, at night before I go to bed. I rarely get a pimple anymore and when I do it's gone by the next morning and my blackheads have almost completely disappeared. My pores are normal sized now and only visible if I put my face all the way up to the mirror. I have tried a lot of products and had pretty much given up when I found this. The only other things I use for skin care are witch hazel, a light non-oily lotion, and a gentle homemade soap. People are always remarking about what beautiful skin I have now! I highly reccomend this stuff! © 1998-2005 Skin Care Rx, LLC - All Rights Reserved Terms of Use :: Security Information :: Privacy Policy :: Site Map |
