For instance, one should be able to sweeten one's smooch with: Maraschino Cherry. Candied Yam. Vanilla Hazelnut. Maple. Dutch Apple Pie. Cinnamon Red-Hot. Festive Ginger (tasteslike gingerbread cookies). Lemon-Lime. Cola. Blackberry Tart. Sparki , Sep 12 2001 Exotic Lip Gloss Flavors http://www.cosmetics.com/lgloss.htm Obligatory Google search result. Pretty spot-on. [ sdm , Sep 12 2001, last modified Oct 17 2004] [ link ] My girlfriend sometimes melts, then mixes different flavors together.
I'll try and find the article, but I read once that lip gloss is considered by some dermatologists as addictive in the classic sense of the word. If you're a heavy user then try to stop, your lips will go into shock.
sdm , Sep 12 2001 Sparki, do a search for "Poppy King". Role model for you, just don't misuse the money. I have flavors already that have left the idea of just bubble gum and medicated. I like the idea of it turning into icecream flavors, though. My boyfriend may find it exoctic, maybe sexy. throwflamingrocks , Jul 15 2003 Holy snappin' Fairly baked a loooong time ago. I remember having cola & lemon-lime & cherry flavour lip glosses when I was a kid... so that's been around a LONG time. Probably just have to look in the "junior misses" area of the cosmetics section of your drug store to find most of the neat flavours. Apart from that, you can make your own lip gloss with petroleum jelly & flavouring - I know you can do it with kool-aid as a flavouring (and colouring too, I guess!), but I haven't seen ginger kool-aid yet. TIPical Mary Ellen host Mary Ellen Pinkham shows how easy it is to make and package bath salts. Basic Bath Salts Recipe Ingredients: 3 parts Epsom salt 2 parts baking soda Preparation: Mix thoroughly. This is the base to create many varieties of bath salts. Variations To color your mixture, use regular food coloring by the drop. If you need to mix hues, do so in something else first, then add the new color to the salts to avoid a two-tone product. The more drops you add, the darker the color. Be sure to mix until evenly distributed. Add fragrance with essential oils. Add the oil by the drop until you achieve the desired scent. Mix until all particles are moistened. It should smell fairly strong. Packaging Ideas Figure A Bath salts should be stored in a wide-rimmed container rather than a small-necked bottle. The salts may harden, making it very difficult to get them out. Layer different colored salts in the container (figure A) . Tie a spoon to the top for a finishing touch. A wide-mouthed canning jar is a nice way to package bath salts. Decorate the lid decorative with fabric, wrapping paper or ribbons. Figure B Decorate a Mason jar with paint pens, then fill with bath salts. Use a hot-glue gun to attach seashells to the lid (figure B) . Restaurant takeout containers make a great package for bath salts and can be purchased at craft stores. Place single-serving amounts of bath salts in small plastic zipper bags. Place the bags inside a decorative envelope or bag. A decorative gift box is a great place to put bath salts. Use a large seashell as a scoop. FACIAL RECOGNITION BASICS HOW
Individual Biometrics - Facial Recognition NCSC HOME PAGE COURT TECHNOLOGY LAB BIOMETRICS HOME INDIVIDUAL BIOMETRICS BERTILLONAGE FINGERPRINT FACIAL RECOGNITION BASICS HOW IT WORKS HISTORY USE EVALUATION STANDARDS MORE INFO HAND GEOMETRY IRIS SCAN RETINAL SCAN VASCULAR PATTERNS DNA SPEAKER RECOGNITION SIGNATURE KEYSTROKE SMART CARDS Individual Biometrics - FACIAL RECOGNITION Basics: Facial recognition analyzes the characteristics of a person's face images input through a digital video camera. It measures the overall facial structure, including distances between eyes, nose, mouth, and jaw edges. These measurements are retained in a database and used as a comparison when a user stands before the camera. This biometric has ben widely, and perhaps wildly, touted as a fantastic system for recognizing potential threats (whether terrorist, scam artist, or known criminal) but so far has been unproven in high-level usage. It is currently used in verification only systems with a good deal of success. How it Works: User faces the camera, standing about two feet from it. The system wil locate the user's face and perform matches against the claimed identity or the facial database. It is possible that the user may need to to move and reattempt the verification based on his facial position. The system usually comes to a decision in less than 5 seconds. To prevent a fake face or mold from faking out the system, many systems now require the user to smile, blink, or otherwise move in a way that is human before verifying. History: The development stage for facial recognition began in the late 1980s and commercially available systems were made available in the 1990s. While many people first heard about facial recognition after September 11th, 2001, football fans were introduced to it at the Super Bowl several months earlier. Use: Currently gaining support as a potential tool for averting terrorist crimes, facial recognition is already in use in many law enforcement areas. Software has also been developed for computer networks and automated bank tellers that use facial recognition for user verification purposes. Evaluation: One of the strongest positive aspects of facial recognition is that it is non-intrusive. Verification or identification can be accomplished from two feet away or more, and without requiring the user to wait for long periods of time or do anything more than look at the camera. That said, this non-intrusiveness is one of its drawbacks when it comes to public opinion. Many people have expressed concern over the potential use of facial recognition cameras placed inconspicuously around cities that would attmept to identify passers-by without their knowledge or consent. However, the inherent difficulties in making a positive identification (lighting requirements, facial position, etc.) are larger than most people realize, and seem to make this biometric a better choice for verification systems, rather than identification.
