Full Review When I got the opportunity to try Bare Escentuals Well-Heeled Foot Polishing Scrub I jumped at it - I am a firm believer in using scrubs in general to get dead and old skin off of the body. The Bare Escentuals body and bath lines were introduced to me while shopping at a rare BE boutique. They were giving out samples with our purchases, plus has a sink area where we could smell and test some products. It was there, smelling and sampling their products that I became hooked - and on a mission to try a variety from this company. Bare Escentuals, briefly I found out about the Bare Escentuals line from message boards at Beauty related sites. I never thought to try or look at their Bath & Body line until Shantel and I happened to go into the boutique looking for Glimmers - I was amazed to see just how many body products and lines she does make! (I suggest you going to this link to see the listing of all of her lines http://www.bareescentuals.com/products/). Bare Escentuals Well-Heeled Foot Polishing Scrub is from the Bare Feet line - "Foot therapy for used and abused feet. Our bareFeet line comes to the rescue to give you pedi-perfect feet every day of the week. The therapeutic essential oils will sooth, heal and refresh tired worn-out feet and legs. The bareFeet line consists of soaks, scrubs, balms, gels and lotions for feet and legs." (taken from link above) Bare Escentuals does not do any animal testing. The Product Bare Escentuals Well-Heeled Foot Polishing Scrub is a scrub product - so it has grit in it (probably the walnut shells). It houses this grit in a thin lotion like substance, and sort of reminds me of that older St Ives Apricot scrub that came in a tub. When you go to use this product you can immediately feel the texture on your hand, and as you go to rub it in, but it is not too abrasive. Though you feel the grit it is not so hard that you cannot stand it. The grit itself stays really well as I rub it onto my feet, and until I wash it off. I would not suggest using it on other parts of the body though, it may be too abrasive (plus BE makes other wonderful body scrubs!). The bottle is a 6.7 ounce full size - but they also sell kits where each bottle is only 2 ounces. I have the 2 ounce bottle and it's about half gone - I use this scrub about 2 times a week and it's lasted me about 2 months so far. I can easily see a full sized bottle lasting through a season. The bottle, like the others in the Bare Feet line is pretty basic - just a plastic bottle of product, cute design and logo, and a black screw off lid. I can get the product out by simply squeezing the sides of the bottle while holding it upside down - though this makes it a tad hard to control the exact amount of product that comes out. For me, the Bare Escentuals bath & body lines are all about the scent, and this product is no different. You are hit with the scent of cloves - there is no mistaking it. For me, I adore the scent, and find it rare to find something with the cloves scent in it - so that alone makes this product better than most I have tried. Rub it all over your feet--especially on those rough spots--towards the end of your shower or after soaking. Then rinse away the outer layers of dead skin cells. Clove essential oil keeps your feet stimulated. Contains extracts of chamomile, calendula, comfrey, aloe vera gel, and coconut oil." Thoughts On Using The Product As a foot scrub it's pretty straight forward to use. Just rub some between your hands and then rub onto your feet, concentrating on rough areas. I have used this in the shower - it is easier to rinse off that way. However it is harder for me to safely rub my feet while I am showering. I have begun to use this scrub after my foot soak, and then used the water in the bowl to help get off the scrub - though here it takes a little rubbing and a towel. In terms of ability to scrub off dry patches on my feet, I feel Bare Escentuals Well-Heeled Foot Polishing Scrub does a really good job. I have had other scrubs not perform as well and smelled unpleasant or were too watery to work well. I find, for me, this product to be the best combination of the 2. It is now my favorite foot scrub to use. I do think there are cheaper ones that perform as well, but don't have that clove smell I have really fallen in love with. For me, buying this product is a nice treat to myself - after all, our feet need some pampering. I recommend using this product and a lot of the Bare Escentuals line. They are a nice treat for pampering yourself or someone else. They would make a nice gift. I don't feel this product is necessarily superior to others, but I do find it to be my current favorite in terms of smell and performance. I am enjoying many of the Bare Feet line and recommend them highly. The Bare Escentuals website is really not that informative and not a good option to purchase from. Boutiques are rare to find. I would suggest looking for BE products the 2 main places I have seen it greatly - Ebay or QVC. QVC has currently about 127 of the BE products for sale, and has great information about each one. QVC also broadcasts programs highlighting BE products.
